Lynnwood Recreation Center Pool

7.14.2013

This week we made a long awaited trip to the Lynnwood Recreation Center Pool! We had heard great things but also knew that it was a very popular place. My kids were so excited to go that I actually called ahead to ask them if they thought they were going to sell out and reach their maximum capacity.  I didn’t want to see how sad my kids would be if we got there and they couldn’t go in. We picked a weeknight at 4:30 pm for beach swim, which is when they only open up the children’s swim area. There were probably about 20 or so other kids there..... perfect! It is easy to find and the employees were all friendly and helpful. We had a really great time and can’t wait to go back again!!

Helpful tips:
* There are some benches that you can sit on and if it’s not crowded (like when we were there) we just left our bag and towels under the bench. We felt like it was safe and we were always in sight of them.
* They do offer open swim tickets that you can purchase ahead of time (up to 2 weeks ahead) online for the weekends. You can skip the lines and get a guaranteed spot!
*They didn't have many toys for the kids to play with, I only saw a few balls laying around. The kids were entertained for the first little while with the water but I could tell it would've been a bit more fun and stretched out our time there if we had brought along or been offered some swim toys. Note to self for next time: Call ahead and ask if they have toys or if we are allowed to bring some from home!
* If you want to go straight home after swimming do not go out the door with the play ground outside!! Or if you want them to dry out a little bit in the warm sun, then definitely go out the doors that lead to the play ground!

I did take pictures while we were there, but these google images were a lot more helpful than mine!
Here is the entrance, and again, this place was VERY easy to find and parking was not hard to come by. We had to walk a little ways to get to the front of the building but it wasn't that bad.

As soon as you walk in you will see the front desk. We happened to go on swim registration night so it was a bit crowded but they got the few of us that were there for open swim in line right away so we didn't have to wait long!
And here is the younger children play area! To the right of this photo is the family hot tub.
And here is the lazy river (which was closed when we were there for beach swim except for those doing swimming lessons) and also where you come out from when you go down the big slides:
