Weekend Happenings Dec.13-15th

Happy almost weekend!! Here is what is going on this weekend:

First off, tonight it is pay what you can night at Warm Beach in Stanwood! Start the weekend off early and head up there tonight!

OR/AND

if you want to stay indoors, it is half price at Imagine Children's Museum in Everett from 3-5pm, only $4.50 a person!

BOTHELL: Country Village has Cookies with Mrs. Claus on Saturday and Sunday from noon-3pm as well as a Clown Show on Saturday from 3-4pm (tickets can be purchased in advance or $8 at the door).

On Sunday the Bothell Gymnastics Club is holding an Open House at 2:00 pm, they will have a giant obstacle course, trampolines, foam pits, and a bounce house. I've heard good things about this place and it's been on my list of places to try out!

EVERETT: the Fa-La-La Holiday Art Sale is happening Friday and Saturday from noon-6pm at the Schack Art Center

My 3 year old girl loves any kind of crafty show!

And if you want to head out of the county, here are a few REALLY fun things to do:

Bellevue: the Sambica Christmas Carnival is Saturday from 2-8 pm and Sunday from 2-5pm. Don't forget about all the other fun things going on in Bellevue (like Snowflake Lane and Garden D'Lights)!!

Shoreline: Head to Highland Ice Arena for the Nutcracker on Ice for FREE!!! Friday night at7:30 pm.

Country Village Christmas Festivities

The Country Village in Bothell is a charming place with tons of cute shops and a great playground! But for Christmas they have some GREAT events!!

It kicks off this Saturday (December 7th) with Santa's arrival!

*Santa arrives at 7 pm

*Tree lighting follows his arrival, heralded by a Town Crier

*The Grinch will be roaming the village from 2-5pm

*Lots of lights, animated light displays featuring a 40' sea serpent, fiddling pig, giant dragonfly, marching ducks and more!

*Complimentary hot-roasted chestnuts will be served at 4pm (while supplies last)

*Live music from local groups throughout the day

*Train rides and pony rides available at a small fee

 The country village can get crowded and parking can fill up quickly. So bundle up, wear comfy shoes and enjoy getting in the holiday spirit!

Elevated Sportz

We had a Living Social for this place and decided to go on my 2 year olds birthday! I had heard some great reviews about how fun it is for kids. BUT it is expensive (in my opinion!) if you have more than one child you are taking. It can range anywhere from $11-$17 depending on ages, days, times and where you want to play. They also have a Hoppy Hour M-F from 10am-12:30 pm. Kids under 3 are $5 and kids 3-8 can jump and play for $8 and one adult can get in free to supervise. We went on a Monday morning right at 10 am and there were about 5 families ahead of us and it did get busier. But, we still had a GREAT time!!

They basically have 2 things to offer, jumping on their trampolines or playing in their kids play structure. The trampolines also offer basketball, a foam pit and dodge ball. The kids play structure offers a ton of fun! Here is a list from their website:

·         Four levels of climbing, sliding, swinging and spinning

·         Super Cyclone – Four levels high, this spiral slide takes you from the top of the structure all the way to the bottom

·         Mystifying Maze – Find your way into and out of the maze!

·         Obstacle Course – Challenge your friends to climbing and jumping fun

·         The Speeder – Race your friends down this super fast slide

·         Globe Spinner – Take a whirl on the spinner. Big enough for you and several friends at the same time.

·         Kiddie Kastle – Scaled for younger kids to slide, climb and play in their own area.

·         Bitty Ball Pit – Lets the little ones slide into a safe and fun landing area full of colorful balls

·         12-Gun Salute – Take aim and fire off a round of soft foam balls from one of the mounted air powered shooters

·         Palm Tree in Paradise – Is it a swing or is it a spinner? Sit on one of the eight soft balls and be prepared to find out!

·         Tubes, tunnels, bridges and more

My kids loved almost all of it!! The ball pit is for 3 and under and was probably their favorite place. They liked to swing on the Palm Tree but it was a bit hard for the 2 year old to hold onto that’s for sure! They enjoyed climbing up the four level structure but my 3 year old daughter got a bit panicky when she couldn't see me, she got over it by the end of the hour that we were there though and was having a lot of fun! There is a lot of big and small fun to be had in this play structure.

Tips:

·         If it is your first time going I would definitely fill out their waver online.

·         Be prepared for a line (and in our case, a lack of employees checking people in)

·         They do not let you bring outside food in but do have a Jump Café that has snacks, salads, sandwiches, pizza, pretzels, soup, smoothies, frozen yogurt, soda, juice, bottled water, etc

Jump Planet Bothell

**I HATE to have to share this...but Jump Planet is CLOSING it's doors:( So sad...but look for some new posts soon of other bouncy house places to visit!**

One of our favorite inflatable places is Jump Planet in Bothell. We have been there several times and the employees are always friendly.

INFORMATION:
Website: I found their website a little tricky at first. If you go down to the bottom right hand side and click on calendar you will find the info on times, cost, etc.
Cost: $7 per child/$5 siblings (keep an eye out for discounted tickets on Groupon, Living Social, etc.)
Times open:  For the 6 and under crowd they are open M-F from 9:30am-noon. For the older crowd, 2-12 year olds they are open from 2:30-5:00pm M-F.
There are 11 inflatables all together. No foam pits. No trampolines. Just inflatables.

TIPS & OPINIONS:

• I would HIGHLY recommend using a GPS to find the building. It is in an industrial area with tons of buildings and can be tricky to find.
• Another thing I must disclaim is that we often leave with burns on our elbows from going down slides and if you go down them too close to the edge you may break a toe, like my mother in law did, yikes! These kinds of things come with the territory for all inflatables.
• They have one inflatable (but I would say there are at least a few more) designated for really young toddlers. If you want to make a play date out of it and chat with some other moms or dads, they do have chairs spread throughout one side of the building so that you can keep a pretty good eye on your older kids but still get to sit and relax a little bit.
• Remember to bring socks! 1 parent must stay and they do offer tea, coffee, a water fountain and Wi-Fi.  And of course they do birthdays too.
